# Edit an MSP Node

MSP nodes can be updated to reflect changes in your organizational structure, naming conventions, or operational ownership. This article explains how to edit an existing MSP node and which changes affect—and do not affect—the MSP Portal.

# Edit an MSP Node
To modify the configuration or details of an existing MSP node, follow the steps below.

        Sign in to the **[WatchDog MSP Portal](https://app.watchdogsecurity.io/)**
      </Step>
      <Step>
        From the account context switcher, select the MSP Portal
      </Step>
      <Step>
        From the Left Hand Navigation Menu, select **Managed Companies**
      </Step>
      <Step>
        Click on the **⋮ (Actions Menu)** to the right of **Add New Company** , then select ⚙️**Manage Nodes**
      </Step>

        Under the **Node List,** find the node you'd like to edit and select the ✏️ **Edit** icon
      </Step>
       <Step>
        Update the name of the Node
      </Step>
       <Step>
        Click **Save Changes**
      </Step>
