MSP nodes allow you to Segment your MSP into teams or downstream partners using node hierarchy. This article explains how to create a new MSP node and what happens afterward.

Required Permissions

Only users with the Create Nodes permission can create new nodes

Nodes are limited to a Parent → Child hierarchy and cannot be nested beyond one level

Create a New MSP Node

To create a new MSP node and organize customers or users under a separate management scope, follow the steps below:

MSP Portal

From the account context switcher, select the MSP Portal

From the Left Hand Navigation Menu, select Managed Companies

Click on the ⋮ (Actions Menu) to the right of Add New Company , then select + Add node

Enter the name of the Node

Click Add Node

What Happens After Creation

The node appears in the Node filter across supported pages

A system-generated role is created automatically - {Node Name} Administrator

All access must be explicitly granted through roles.

Access & Visibility After Creation

Creating a node does not automatically grant users access. Access to the new node depends on:

Whether a user is assigned a role at that node

A parent-level role includes Cascade Node Permissions

If a user does not meet either condition, the node will not be visible to them.
