Edit a User

This article explains how to edit an existing user in the MSP Portal. You can update a user’s first name, last name, application role, and the MSP node they belong to.
Required Permissions
Only users with the Modify Users permission can update users

Edit a Current User#

To update a user’s roles, permissions, or details within the MSP Portal, follow the steps below:

Sign in to the WatchDog MSP Portal

From the account context switcher, select the MSP Portal

From the Left Hand Navigation Menu, select Users

Select the Users Tab

(Optional) Under Node, select the node the user belongs under

Locate the user you want to update.

In the Actions column, click the ⋮ (Actions Menu).

Select Edit.

Update any of the following fields:
Node
First Name
Last Name
Application Role

Click Update to apply the changes.
Changes take effect immediately. If the UI doesn’t update right away, refresh your browser.

Edit an Invited User#

To modify the role or details of a pending user invitation before it is accepted, follow the steps below:

Sign in to the WatchDog MSP Portal

From the account context switcher, select the MSP Portal

From the Left Hand Navigation Menu, select Users

Select the Invited Tab

(Optional) Under Node, select the node the user belongs under

Locate the user you want to update.

In the Actions column, click the ⋮ (Actions Menu).

Select Edit.

Update any of the following fields:
Node
First Name
Last Name
Application Role

Click Update to apply the changes.
Changes take effect immediately. If the UI doesn’t update right away, refresh your browser.
