Edit and Manage Risk#
Editing a risk allows you to update ownership, scoring, treatment plans, and track remediation through tasks.

Sign in to WatchDog Security

Open Risk Management
Select Risk Management from the left-hand navigation.

Select Risk
Click a risk from the risk register.

Edit Risk Info
Click Edit Risk Info to update name, owner, and notes.

Update Inherent Risk
Adjust Inherent Impact and Inherent Likelihood sliders.

Set Treatment Plan
Select a treatment option under Treatment Plan.

Add Tasks
Under Tasks, click Add Task to create remediation actions.

Update Residual Risk
Adjust Residual Impact and Residual Likelihood after mitigation.

Save Changes
Click Save to apply all updates.
What Happens Next#
Updates to the risk are reflected immediately in the risk register.
Assigned owners are responsible for managing and treating the risk.
Tasks track remediation progress and impact residual risk scoring.
Residual risk values reflect the effectiveness of mitigation efforts.
Troubleshooting#
Verify your role is Account Owner or Security Admin
If assigned, ensure you have permission to modify the risk
Confirm the risk is not archived
