Configure Directory Sync

Directory Sync allows you to connect Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 so WatchDog Security can identify users from your directory and help streamline onboarding. This is useful when you want to reduce manual user creation and manage onboarding from a connected identity provider.
Who can use this feature?
All Account Owners and Security Admins
Available on the Free, Core and Business plans

Sync Directories#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open User Management
Navigate to Management > Users from the main navigation menu.

Click Add User
Click the Add User button in the top right.

Open Directory Sync
Click Directory Sync from the Add Users panel.

Select Provider
Choose Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

Authenticate Account
Sign in with a privileged account to start the sync process.

Review Users
Review the users identified by the sync flow.

Apply Onboarding
Set the default role and click Onboard Users.

What Happens Next#

Users from your connected directory are identified for onboarding.
Selected users are added to your tenant with the chosen default role.
New users may receive an invitation email based on your onboarding flow.

Troubleshooting#

Directory Sync Is Not Available
If sync cannot be started:
Ensure Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 is connected in the Integrations Page
Confirm the integration was authorized successfully
Retry the flow using a privileged directory account
No Users Found
Users Are Excluded From Sync
