Reset 2FA

Reset User 2FA allows administrators to remove a user’s existing two-factor authentication setup when they are locked out or can no longer complete authentication. After the reset, the user can configure 2FA again the next time they sign in.
Who can use this feature?
All Account Owners and Security Admins
Available on the Free, Core and Business plans

Reset User 2FA#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open User Management
Navigate to Management > Users from the main navigation menu.

Locate User
Find the user in the User list.

Open Actions Menu
Click the Actions menu beside the user.

Reset 2FA
Select the option to reset the user’s two-factor authentication.

Confirm Reset
Confirm the reset action to continue.

What Happens Next#

The user’s current 2FA setup is removed.
The user is required to configure 2FA again the next time they sign in.
The reset helps restore access for users who can no longer complete authentication.

Troubleshooting#

Reset 2FA Option Is Missing
If the reset option is not available:
Ensure you have Account Owner or Security Admin access
Refresh the Users page and reopen the Actions menu
Confirm you are viewing the correct user
User Still Cannot Access Their Account
