Perform Vendor Assessments

Who can use this feature?
All Account Owners and Security Admins
Any End Users assigned as an owner to one or more vendors
Available on the Free, Core and Business plans

Manual Review#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Vendor Management
Navigate to Vendor Management from the left-hand menu.

Select Vendor
Click the vendor card you want to assess.

Open Security Documentation & Assessments Section
Scroll to the Security Documentation & Assessments section.

Start Manual Review
Click Add > Manual Review to begin the manual assessment.

Answer Questions
Complete the questionnaire using vendor security information.

Submit Assessment
Click Complete to submit the review.

Compliance Attestation Review#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Vendor Management
Navigate to Vendor Management from the left-hand menu.

Select Vendor
Click the vendor card you want to assess.

Open Security Documentation & Assessments Section
Scroll to the Security Documentation & Assessments section.

Start Compliance Attestation
Click Add > Compliance Attestation to begin the compliance attestation assessment.

Upload Attestation
Click Upload Files and upload compliance reports such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.

Add Summary of Findings
Enter findings and observations in the Summary of Findings field.

Save Document
Click Complete to complete the assessment record.

Security Questionnaire Assessment#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Send Questionnaire
Send the vendor security questionnaire to the vendor for completion.

Receive Completed File
Obtain the completed questionnaire from the vendor.

Open Vendor Management
Navigate to Vendor Management from the left-hand menu.

Select Vendor
Click the vendor card you want to assess.

Open Security Documentation & Assessments Section
Scroll to the Security Documentation & Assessments section.

Start Security Questionnaire
Click Add > Security Questionnaire to begin the security questionnaire assessment.

Upload Questionnaire
Click Upload Files and upload the completed questionnaire.

Add Summary Notes
Enter a summary of findings in the Note field.

Save Assessment
Click Complete to finish the questionnaire.

What Happens Next#

The assessment is stored and linked to the selected vendor.
The Risk Review Status changes from Pending to Completed.
The Next Review Date Is scheduled One year from when the initial review was completed
Uploaded documents are available for audit and compliance purposes.

Troubleshooting#

Cannot Start Assessment
If you cannot begin an assessment:
Ensure you have the Account Owner or Security Admin role
Verify the vendor record is accessible
Refresh the page and retry
Assessment Submission Fails
Document Upload Fails
Questionnaire Not Completed
