Manage Risk Tasks

Who can use this feature?
All Account Owners and Security Admins
Any End Users assigned as an owner to one or more risks
Available on the Free, Core and Business plans

Create A Task#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Risk Management
Select Risk Management from the left-hand navigation.

Select Risk
Click a risk from the risk register.

Add Task
Under Tasks, click Add Task.

Enter Task Details
Provide task name, assign a user, and set an optional due date.

Create Task
Click Create Task to save the task.

What Happens Next#

The task is added to the selected risk.
Assigned users gain ownership of the task.
The task appears under the risk for tracking.

Update A Task#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Risk Management
Select Risk Management from the left-hand navigation.

Select Risk
Click a risk from the risk register.

Open Task Menu
Click the 3 dots beside the task.

Edit Task
Select Edit to modify the task.

Save Changes
Click Save Changes to apply updates.

What Happens Next#

The task details are updated immediately.
Changes are reflected under the risk.
Updated tasks maintain assignment and tracking.

Complete A Task#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Risk Management
Select Risk Management from the left-hand navigation.

Select Risk
Click a risk from the risk register.

Open Task Menu
Click the 3 dots beside the task.

Mark Complete
Select Mark as Complete.

What Happens Next#

The task is marked as complete.
Completion contributes to risk remediation progress.
Completed tasks support residual risk updates.

Delete A Task#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Risk Management
Select Risk Management from the left-hand navigation.

Select Risk
Click a risk from the risk register.

Open Task Menu
Click the 3 dots beside the task.

Delete Task
Select Delete to remove the task.

What Happens Next#

The task is permanently removed from the risk.
Deleted tasks cannot be restored.
You can create a new task if needed.

Troubleshooting#

Cannot Add Task
Verify you have permission to edit the risk
Ensure the risk is not archived
Confirm required fields such as task name are completed
Task Not Saving Or Updating
Cannot Complete Task
Task Deleted By Mistake
