Update Policy

Create new versions of policies to reflect changes while maintaining historical records.

Who can use this feature?
All Account Owners and Security Admins
Available on the Free, Core and Business plans

Steps#

Sign in to WatchDog Security
Sign in to the WatchDog Security Platform.

Open Policy Manager
Navigate to Policy Manager from the left-hand menu.

Open Policy Actions
Click the 3 dots next to a published policy.

Create New Version
Select Create New Version to generate a draft version.

Edit Draft Version
Update the policy content in the Draft tab.

Publish Updated Policy
Click Publish and choose if re-acceptance is required.

What Happens Next#

A new version of the policy replaces the previous version.
Users may be required to re-accept the policy depending on settings.
Previous versions remain available for audit purposes.

Troubleshooting#

Cannot Create New Version
If versioning fails:
Ensure the policy is Published
Verify you have correct permissions
Refresh and retry
Users Not Prompted To Re Accept
